39th Guthrie Wineglass Marathon - October 4, 2020
Update April 17, 2020
As we navigate the immediate challenges and the ever-changing situation of the COVID-19 pandemic, our current decisions, actions, and assumptions are based on cautious optimism that Wineglass Weekend will take place on October 2 – 4, 2020 as planned. Our primary focus remains on the health and well-being of participants, staff, volunteers, spectators, and our entire community. We will continue to monitor the situation and will follow the guidance and direction of local and state health officials as well as the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in all our decisions. This is a rapidly evolving situation and we encourage participants to direct any questions to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The course is fast. Very fast. Personal records tend to fall here. Beyond the chance for a PR, the speed also makes Wineglass one of the top spots to qualify for the Boston Marathon. And the early autumn scenery is stunning. These are just a few of the reasons the Wineglass draws people from nearly every state and from countries around the world to a destination comprised of small towns. And part of the reason why Wineglass has been named one of the top 10 Destination Races in the world.
The other reason is the people who live here. Because the Wineglass is about more than the miles. For the folks who run the event, for the people who live here, for the thousands of volunteers, it's not about the race as much as it is about the runners and the experiences they have; the experiences you have! It's about having something special we can't wait to share with the world.
There are other perks, too, like great food, exceptional wine and craft beverages, incredible art and culture, and the peacefulness and calm that can only be found in a small town.
The Guthrie Wineglass Marathon is a USATF Certified Course & 2020 Sanctioned Event and used by many runners as a Boston Marathon Qualifier.
