b'WINEGLASS GIVING BACKCharitable GivingA top destination race and the second largest marathon in New York State, the Wineglass Race Series is about more than just running. Its also about giving back to the communities in which the race runs. The success of each years race results from sponsorship support and the nearly 2,000 volunteers responsible for everything from transporting runners to the start lines to water stations to the finish line and maintaining course safety.Proceeds from the race are channeled back to the volunteer groups who assist with the races. Since 2011, nearly $800,000 has been donated to area groups by the Wineglass organization. The best part is giving back to the groups that help us achieve our mission. Additional charities supported by runner donations include: House of Hope, Girls on the Run and the Kramer Foundation.Wineglass ScholarsIn addition, Wineglass offers scholarships to student-athletes from the three high schools along the marathon route (Bath-Haverling, Campbell-Savona, and Corning-Painted Post).Since starting the Wineglass scholarship fund in 2016, the fund has significantly grown thanks in part to the generous donations of our runners. To date, Wineglass Race Series has granted 47 scholarships totaling $48,500. This year, six $1,500 scholarships were awarded to Corning-Painted Post School District senior runners, all of whom will be continuing their running careers at the collegiate level this fall.Thank you to everyone who has helped foster the love of running for todays2023 Wineglass Scholarship winnersyouth.Your support makes a difference!
