Corning, NY - With more than 4,000 runners already registered for events at this year's 31st annual Wineglass Marathon weekend, race organizers are excited to welcome the Arnot Health Human Motion Institute as the presenting sponsor of the 2012 Wineglass Marathon.
With community wellness as a top focus, Arnot Health is guided by its mission to serve the community, enhance patient care and strengthen regional partnerships. In doing so, Arnot Health has become a premier provider of quality healthcare in the region, serving thousands of residents in the Northern Tier of Pennsylvania and the Southern Tier of New York. As a service of Arnot Health, the Human Motion Institute is a unique program offering a comprehensive treatment for orthopedic and motion injuries within an integrated healthcare network.
As the popularity of the marathon continues to surge, event planners are excited to welcome additional community partners to support the regional event. Marathon Co-Director Sheila Sutton notes, "We are so fortunate to have the support of Arnot Health and the Human Motion Institute for our event; their dedication to patient care and recovery is so relevant to runners everywhere. We are proud to partner with an organization as dedicated as Arnot Health to providing top-level care to our community."
Dustin Hewit, Senior Director of Marketing, Communications and Public Affairs for Arnot Health, is quick to point out the benefit of partnering with the marathon. "At Arnot Health, we work hard to help area residents live the kind of life they want by maintaining a healthy lifestyle," notes Hewit. "Wellness as exemplified by so many runners, whether they are highly competitive or just recreational, is what we want for all the people we have the pleasure to serve."
Visitors are encouraged to be a part of race weekend by cheering on runners and visiting with this year's special guest Joan Benoit Samuelson. Following a gold medal victory at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, Samuelson rose to international stardom after becoming the first ever women's Olympic marathon champion.
