Corning, NY - The Wineglass Marathon is proud to introduce a limited edition commemorative poster celebrating the 33rd annual race.

Local artist Jennifer Green Fais was commissioned by race organizers to create the poster's artwork. Highlighting the treasured Historic Centerway Walking Bridge and Corning's iconic "Little Joe" Tower which was used in glass manufacturing for decades, the watercolor "A Perfect Day To Run" starts a new chapter in Wineglass Marathon history.

"This view of Corning is one of my favorites," said Fais. "It sums up Corning for me - the 'Little Joe' Tower, the Corning Incorporated headquarters, and the beautifully renovated walking bridge. I bet it is a happy sight for our Wineglass Marathon runners, as well!"

Posters are commonplace in large races, and Wineglass volunteer Teresa Smith led the effort to bring the Wineglass its first poster. "So many runners love the beauty of this course in the Fall. They have the chance to take a bit of that beauty home with them now!"

Posters are available for purchase for $20 (shipping tube included) at the Wineglass Marathon Expo at the Corning Museum of Glass on Friday and Saturday of race weekend as well as the Information Center of Corning beginning October 1st.

A special meet-and-greet gallery reception is open to runners and the public on Saturday, Oct. 4, 12-5PM at West End Gallery. Jennifer Green Fais will showcase the framed original painting and will sign posters as well.

The raffle drawing to win the framed original watercolor will be on race day, Sunday, Oct. 5 at 3:30PM at West End Gallery. Raffle entry forms are available at Wegmans, the Wineglass Expo, The Information Center of Corning, West End Gallery, The Source, Sorge's and Imagine That!, beginning Friday, October 3rd.

Wineglass photographer A.D. Wheeler, designer Michael Orr of Michael Orr + Associates and local photographer Noel Sylvester helped transform Fais' artwork into this new marathon keepsake.

The Wineglass Marathon and Half Marathon are October 5th and welcome a record field 6,000 runners from 43 states and 8 countries to the beautiful Finger Lakes region of New York.
