Corning, N.Y., November 30, 2017 - Today it was announced that Guthrie is the Title Sponsor of The Wineglass Marathon beginning in 2018. The joint release by the Wineglass Marathon (a program under Corning Classic Charities, Inc.) and The Guthrie Clinic announced a five-year partnership highlighting both organizations' interest in community-focused health and wellness. All marathon materials, beginning with early registration on December 1, 2017, will feature the new logo.
Since its inception in 1982, the Wineglass Marathon has grown from a small local race with 250 runners to one of the country's top destination marathons. In 2017, 6,500 participants from nearly every state in the US and twelve countries registered for the popular full and half marathons.

The Guthrie Clinic, its providers and staff have helped with medical support to the event for years," said Sheila Sutton, Race Director. Dr. Phykitt, a primary care provider at Guthrie, has been a long time volunteer at The Wineglass Marathon Finish Line medical tent. "This partnership is a great way for us to engage with patients, friends and family, inspiring them to get more active to improve their health. Whether your goal is to run your first 5k, or the whole marathon, each step you take is toward improved health."
