Wineglass Half Marathon

START TIME - 7:45am

The 7th Annual Wineglass Half Marathon starts at 7:45am on Sunday, October 1, 2017.  3,500 runners will take to the roads on this point-to-point course from Campbell, NY (the halfway point of the Full Marathon) to the finish line on Historic Market Street in Corning. The picturesque course is fast and flat with an overall net elevation drop of 40 feet, winding through several small towns and along scenic country roads.

Transportation is provided to the start line for all runners. The Campbell-Savona High School gym will be open for runners to stay inside and warm until 20 minutes before race start. All runners are required to take a bus to the start.  All runners must have their bib before boarding a bus to the start line.

The Half Marathon will start promptly at 7:45am! (Start time impacts all including the Full Marathon start time.)  All runners MUST be on the road heading to the startline no later than 7:30am.  Runners will be reminded to do so and risk being held at the school parking lot until the race begins, if they don't follow as stated.  Runners held will be released to walk to the start line and allowed to begin the race.  (Chip Time)

The 37th year of the Wineglass Marathon and the 8th year of the Wineglass Half Marathon will be held on Sunday, September 30th, 2018. The 2018 Wineglass Weekend will begin on Friday, September 28th, 2018. Please mark your calendars and join us for another great year in 2018!

2017 Wineglass Half Marathon Awards

Glass Finisher Medals

All finishers will receive a hand-crafted glass medal, continuing a long tradition of unique and collectible Wineglass medals.

Cash Prizes

Cash prices are awarded as below for both men and women.

Placement will be decided by the "highest" cash prize. For instance, if a Masters runner places 2nd or 3rd overall, then they would be placed in the Overall category due to the higher cash prize. A $250 cash bonus is awarded for breaking a course record (Open and Masters).  Cash prizes are calculated by "Gun Time".

The top 3 winners in both the Overall and Masters categories will also receive an engraved wine carafe.

First Place = $750 | Second Place = $400 | Third Place = $200
The Overall Male and Female winners will also receive a  stunning Steuben Crystal Disc.

Age Group Awards
First, second and third place finishers in the age groups listed below will receive an engraved stemless wine glass.  Age Group Awards will be calculated by "Chip Time".    Age Group Awards will be mailed.
Age Groups:  18-24; 25-29; 30-34; 35-39; 40-44; 45-49; 50-54; 55-59; 60-64; 65-69; 70+

Wineglass Half Marathon Registration Rules

  • No refunds of entry fees for any reason
  • No bib transfers will be accepted
  • No deferrals will be accepted beyond the stated end date
  • Minimum age for Wineglass Half Marathon participants: 16 years old
  • No paper/mail-in registrations for the half marathon are accepted
  • Racers, pick up your bib and packet at the Expo on Friday or Saturday. There will be NO RACE DAY BIB PICK UP for the full and half marathons at the Start Lines. (See below.)
  • Deferral Policy and Event Change Switching Policy

NEW FOR 2017: ALL RUNNERS MUST HAVE A BIB WHEN BOARDING A BUS TO THE START LINE! NO EXCEPTIONS! THERE IS NO RACE DAY BIB PICK-UP AT THE START LINES. For runners unable to pick up their bibs on Friday or Saturday, bib pick-up will be available on a limited basis at the Corning Information Center, 1 W. Market St., Corning, NY on Sunday, Oct. 1st from 5:00-6:00AM ONLY! Runners must present a copy of their ID to pick up their bib. Please allow time to get your bib and board your bus to the start line! Runners picking up bibs on Sunday morning MUST pick up their runner swag at the Corning Museum of Glass auditorium after they finish the race (Expo location). Please show your bib.

Elite Entry 

If you wish to be considered for an elite entry please submit your request to and include a Complete Running Bio for the past three years. Please include the following information at the time of the request.

UPDATE: All female elite spots in the full and half marathon are now filled. We are continuing to accept applications for male elite status.

Note: The Wineglass Marathon does not pay for travel to and from Corning, NY.
