What time do the Races start? 
The Marathon & Half Marathon both start at 8:00 am.

Is the Wineglass Marathon an official qualifying race for the Boston Marathon?  
Yes!  The Wineglass Marathon is a USATF certified course which qualifiies runners for races like Boston where a specific time is required.  All individual runners results are sent to Boston immediately after the Wineglass to insure they have the information when you send in your application.  

What is the temperature? 
Typical weather for the Corning, NY area at the end of September and early October is cool and relatively dry.  The average starting temperature for the Wineglass over the last 10 years has been at or slightly below 40F (~5C).  

How many runners are there? 
The field for 2012 is open to 2,500 Full Marathoners and 1,500 Half Marathoners.  This is an increase of 1,000 total runners from 2011.  Both races sold out over 3 months before race day in 2011.

Does registration close? 
Registration for the Wineglass Marathon and Half Marathon closed the end of June 2011.

Can I register at the Expo or on Race Day?
No.  If the race does not close early all registrations must be submitted no later than September 10, 2012.

Is transportation to the Start Line? 
Bus transportation to the Start Line from Market Street in Corning, NY (Finish Line) is free to all runners!  Transportation is provided to both the Full and Half Marathon starting lines.

Is the Marathon walker-friendly? 
Yes. The Wineglass Marathon & Half Marathon is open to all competitors, with few restrictions. 

How long will the race course be open? 
We will maintain timing up to about 6 1/2 hours for those within "striking distance" of the Finish Line at the 6 hour mark.  

Can I use a baby jogger, roller blades, scooter or bike? 
No. These items are all strictly prohibited from the race course.

September 30, 2012 will be the Wineglass Marathon's 31st year running! The Wineglass Marathon is a flat, fast and scenic 26.2 miles starting in Bath, NY and finishing in Corning, NY. In 2011, a new tradition was born with the running of the inaugural Wineglass Half Marathon. Registration for both races began December 1, 2011.
